The Payne's

Since no one likes this blog i created a new blog to update all news with Rowan. I figured the future grandparents needed a place to view pics easily.

So BP's Place is still shut down until i get 10 comments so have fun not enjoying my original and funny blogs

However, check out The Payne's at http://brandonanderinpayne.blogspot.com/

KEEP BP'S PLACE ALIVE

Alright guys and gals, recently I had an episode of getting out of my comfort zone and posting more than 2 blog posts per year. Well I kept getting these random comments from strangers and from high school past friends. I thought it was wierd but at same time, I am DA BP.

Well I eventually found out that a cuz who I won't mention their name (scott moore) and a cuz-in-law who I will mention their name (adam turnbull) were playing a dirty trick on BP by posting FAKE COMMENTS.

Now I wasn't mad, but just a little let down. I thought people actually cared what I had to say (not really but sort of..). Anyway, my 1% desire to blog when down to .01% now.

I must admit, I need to feel blog wanted to blog because in my human flesh, I hate blogging. Maybe I will learn to love it but right now I don't.

However, I figured I should just throw it out there. Like playing that game where you ask someone what they really think of you. Well I am asking you, the public, the BP fans. Do you want more, if so i need 10 comments posted to this post by next wednesday or as you know if BP's Place will still be BP's Place but with no new posts.

So if you want to hear randomness, want to know how Yosimenti is, want to see into the brain of BP...LET HIM HEAR IT.

So to all of you, sorry for the seriouness of the post. I not sure if I even had any grammar erros but I promise this is BP. So if this is good bye, then good bye. I love you all.

BP is OUT

The Age Old Debate Part 3

Short and quick, just another thought

Most comments coming in are stating it is wrong and CHEAP to pass interference a WR.

However, is it wrong for a offensive team to take a delay of game on 4th down to back themselves up 5 yards when they are on the 50 yard line to give their punter more room. I am pretty sure most will say no. But this is the same thing. You are "breaking a rule" to gain an advantage.

In basketball, is it wrong to foul at the end of the game when you are down 5 points so the other team will have to go to the foul line. Most will say no but once again you are "breaking a rule" to try and get yourself and advantage.

I don't think anything is wrong with any of them.

If you think the 4th down punter delay of game or fouling basketball is ok but not pass interference, leave some comments on your reasoning of why "breaking rules" to gain competitive advantage is ok sometimes but other times it is just CHEAP.

Just giving some more food for thought on this early sat morning (3:23 am)
Peace

Charter Part 3: The Cousin

So Kyle left a comment linking the charter post back to the "Age Old Debate" post by asking the question is it morally wrong to use the "age old trick" of telling Charter you are disconnecting, without true intentions of disconnecting, to get a better deal.

We all know that the fastest way to get a new deal from Charter, and probably from any cable provider...yes that means you DISH Network and Direct TV, is to tell them to pull the plug. It is so funny to listen and go through the protocol of the Tech telling you "One Moment Please, let me check with my manager" knowing that they will give you the best deal that they currently have advertised to keep you from pulling the plug. Now we all know better than to think that these Techs actually go and ask their manager. These Techs no that Charter are milking us for all we are worth and as they are "checking with their manager" they are actually returning to their foreign spoken conversation on who will win at laser tag that night with their cube mate.

Anyway, lets hit the Kyle's question.

When you get down to the moral issue of it I would have to say it is wrong to intentionally tell Charter to disconnect you when you have no intentions of pulling the plug. Now have I done that before, YES I HAVE so you can call my a HIPO (that is my slang term for hypocrite).
Now, I just wrote a couple paragraphs on this and erased them because I was getting too detailed and making this simple question to complex so here is the summary

The reason I say it would have to be wrong is because you are intentionally deceiving someone and the Bible teaches us not to be deceitful. Now is it wrong to negotiate with Charter (or with any businessman), NOT AT ALL. There is nothing wrong negotiating with someone as long as you are being fair.
I now only tell them to pull the plug if I am willing to deal with the consequences of them actually pulling it.

Short and simple
comments welcomed

I Hate Charter Part 2

So last year I posted on how Charter is a HORRIBLE cable provider. I have been with charter for the past 5 years and I have had to EXPLAIN things to them at least a handful of times. Did you hear what I just said... I HAD TO EXPLAIN things to them.

Now for some reason I am starting to get a couple comments on this blog so I figured lets continue on this I Hate Charter Soga even though I hate blogging almost as bad..but lets give it a whirl.

Since if you google "I hate charter", my blog is the first item found (Not many times I have something at top of the list) I figured lets tell Charter what they could do better for that day when their foreign intern is told to go GOOGLE "I hate Charter" to see what comes up so they can try in their very small, POLITICAL INSANE and STUPIDITY MINDSET (yes I do think most of the political world is out to feed their power hungry mind and have no clue what they are doing except feeding more ignorance to the portion of America that has no clue how not to WET their PANTS and be a good American - but politics is for another blog) to better their so called "cable company".
Really this goes for all cable companies because I not sure any of them have a lick of sense

BP's TIPS to a Better Charter:
1) Reduce Prices. Telling the public that it cost $90 to have a DVR, HD Channels, Sports Package, etc is redonkulous. We all know that ESPN is one reason cable companies have to mark up their prices but $90 for a package is crazy AND that is with a deal. Take away the "rental fees" for the DVR, take away the HD upgrade price, I mean are we updating everyday...i could go on but i have lost track of all their crazy fees and i don't feel like getting my bill out
2) Allow customers to select what channels they want. Don't bundle a lot of 30 stations together. If someone wants TLC but doesn't want Oxygen, let them be. It is not a sin to want TLC and not Oxygen. If someone wants ESPN but not Speed Vision for Motorcycles 4, then let it be. Bundle smaller packages if you must but simply list all your channels and LET US CHOOSE
3) Revamp tech support. Charter's tech support is so spread out globally that getting an American friendly voice that you can understand is a long shot. It is like blind dating - you not sure what you will get. So minimize the number of foreign people. Also minimize the tech support hand book that they read out of. I have called tech support so much that I know exactly what they are goingn to say and what I can say to "trick" them now to half way get my way. I am tired of hearing "Let me send a signal to your box". What the heck, let me send some intelligance to you, the signal doesn't work. The tech supports don't have a clue of what packages are going on or how to fix crap. I have talked to only 3 people i would ever want to talk to again on tech support.
4) Don't just give deals to newbies. Does that make sense to anyeone else. Mr Payne has been with us for 5 years and paid his bill on time every month but lets stick him with our HIGHEST priced package while little donkey lover Bill gets 1/2 off for 1 year. Sure newbies need a deal to get them in the CULT but us oldies need a deal too. It will save me valuable time from calling charter to disconnect to just reconnect the next to get a deal. However, I have found out if you threaten to pull the plug or just keep calling until you get a sweet lady named Mary (wait is that her name) that you can always still get a deal no matter if they tell you that you must wait 3 months after your initial subscription runs out.
5) Quit charging $25 for a stupid tech op to come to my house. Charter says they will reverse the bill if the problem ends up being their fault. Their fault, it is always their fault. Who in their right mind damages their cable box? Think about that charter, what could we do to the cable to make it not work. IDIOTS

Don't even get me started on internet, 10 MB speed, who needs that fast of internet and for $50.....NO WAY

Charter listen closely...you are a horrible business and people will keep leaving until you fix your prices and industry as a whole. More and more people are buying the $20 HD antenna at wal mart and saving $100 a month on cable bill.

I want to hear comments on how to "trick" charter into less money. What have you learned

Update to Age Old Debate

Alright guys and girls, this is by no means to change anyone's opinion but several comments are comming back relating only to high school and peeps saying it is a dirty move. This is fine...to each his own

BUT, take this into consideration. In basketball when a player fouls another player on a fast break to send the offensive player to the foul line to make him "EARN" the points, do you call it dirty. I don't (unless you intentionally hurt the guy). BP will tell LBP to foul the guy (unless he has 4 fouls) and send him to the line.

Different sports but same scenerio...think about it...think about it

But like i said, to each his own. Not trying to change anyone's mind just trying to make sure the scenerio is seen across the board.

Things to REMEMBER: If your kid is playing against LBP, remember to teach them to be ready for a hard foul on a fast break or to get some hands all up in their facemask if they beat LBP on the route. This is also pending I ever have a little boy and he is some what atheltic. He will probably be like me and only play tennis which i think if LBP jumps across the net to whack the other tennis player in the head to keep him from hitting the ball back..he would totally be disqualified but at the same time he would go to the olympics because WHAT SPEED THE BOY HAS

The Age Old Debate

Alright guys, the audience wants an encore so who is BP to deny the voice of the people (or in this case our high school class). Now let me warn you this may be a little longer one and as always I hate proof reading and can find better things to do than to proof read emails or blogs. I rather type fast and not proof read so pardon me for my mistakes :)

There has been a debate going on when a group of us, well let me just be blunt, one of my buddies disagrees with the rest of us. Now this is fine but I figure I throw it out here and see what others thought. Maybe BP is in the minority...who knows

The question concerns breaking "rules" in sports. Is this considered wordly wrong and even spiritually wrong. Yeah I know, this is going to go deep, spiritually deep.....lets take a small break so you can grab a GRAPICO and WACHAMACALLIT (spelling?? - candy bar). ........................................................................................................................................................................................
....(dotes represent break time)...................................................................

Ok, here is the basic scenerio. Little BP isplaying football, lets say at the CB position, and daddy BP (me) is the coach. I am going to teach and tell Little BP (we will from now on refere to Little BP as LBP and coach BP as only BP) that if he gets beat on a route by the WR and the WR is going to catch the ball and score a TD...BP says pass interference the WR to save the TD. I think it is smart and a good strategy. BP would also teach LBP to slap the WR on the butt and say "Hey man, greate route and you had me beat. I had to pass interference you to save the TD".

The other view of this is that it is wrong to do pass interference on purpose. You should just let the WR score and tell him good job. This view says that we shouldn't break rules no matter the circumstance. That using a cost/benefit analyses for breaking rules in football is not the right attitude. The other view also takes this to basketball where it believes intentional fouling is not the right thing to do.

Now BP does say that intentionally hurting another player is WRONG. That is why that some rules call for ejection and suspensions. BP would never teach LBP to do something that would get ejected. BP just believes that sports rules were created with the mindset of strategy. Isn't walking a guy in baseball breaking a rule in some aspect because he gets a free base. That free base is like giving a football team 15 yards for pass inteference. We just don't view it the same way because no ref throws a flag or blows a whistle in baseball on 4 balls.

Now the other view also can go deeper to the spritituallity of right/wrong on breaking rules. I am a Christian and my life's desire is to glorify God in EVERYTHING I do. I have no problem taking this to a spiritual level because we are called by God to worship Him in everything and that means sports too. Now side note: worshiping God doesn't always mean singing hymns or listening to preaching. Worshing God is so much bigger than the walls of our church and should be how we daily live.
With that said I believe that intentionally committing pass interference is not sinning against God. Now if your pass interference means you intentionally break the WR leg then we need to talk..so let me know if you like breaking legs.

The other view says that we shouldn't break rules intentionally because that is not what Jesus would do. I TOTALLY AGREE. If a teacher tells LBP to quit talking but LBP keeps talking..HE IS IN THE WRONG and he will getting a wooping..HECK BP may even make LBP stand behind Yosemeniti(donkey) for punishment.

But i believe that rules in sports are a different scope than rules elsewhere. I believe that when the sports gurus were creating the rule book they sat around a table and discussed how these rules could be used for strategy. There is no teacher in football saying if you do this you ar bad and you get 15 yards penalty. Football simply says if you committ a penalty, that is fine but you get 15 yards for pass interference.

So do i believe Jesus is looking down on LBP and shaking his head in disgust because He intentionally committed the pass interference. Nope not at all. I think Jesus is saying, great move man..smart, now go tell the WR why you did it and give him a boost of confidence.

so give me your feedback, would BP be considered a dirty coach or a mean coach for teaching LBP this. Remember, our #1 goal is to glorify God in everything and I don't think inentional penalities denounces this...it is just good o'l strategy

man what a long blog..i wouldn't read so if you one of the peeps who just skims blogs and you catch this sentence..just POST "BP YOU ARE RIGHT AND ALSO JUST STINKIN AWESOME"

Twitter vs Text

Ok, lets compare twitter and texting. I think they are similar (key word is similar..I never say they are exactly the same). I will go as far as saying they are 80% similar.

History time, one of my buddies (well really 2) have a blog and they have a twitter people about it. I made fun of one of my buddies because he had a blog dissing on texting. Now BP hates reading articles on the internet and I only skim (spelling?) articles and so my skimming stopped at the title of the blog on this particular day so I didn't see why he hated it. Now BP hates texting primarily because you have to pay for it. Why is it taking so long for a cell phone company to change their primary rates to be one set fee like land line phones. I know we are getting closer because we have the GO phones now (etc) but we still have a ways to go. The first company who does tht type of billing would jump the head of the cell industry and they can thank BP for that. So back to the history, so I emailed my buddy to joke with him on his twittering. Well on the reply back he copied buddy #2 on it and said twittering has nothing to do with texting.

BP's 2 cents: Texting and Twittering are very similar for the following reasons
1) they both are "shortcut" of a larger scheme. Texting is a shortcut for calling someone and twittering is a shortcut for blogging/email mass amount of people
2) They both use abbreviations like ROLF (rolling on le floor - french version), NU (new update), BPSEXY (BP sexy)..etc
3) They are both meant to be short conversations (words to maybe sentence in length)
4) they both involve typing

now they are not the exact same but I believe you could through a hand gernade and hit both of them because they are buddies and are usually in the same location (BP's little symbolism..wait is that symbolism or is it a...crap what is the word..meow)

The 2 Buddies: now my 2 buddies state they are only 5% similar....

Audience: now to my audience..what do you think? let me know
Prize: the fact that i may not see your answer for another 6 months...wait i forgot that I get automatic emails on responses..SWEEEET

Phrase of the day: That is cooler than the other side of the pillow

BP's Is Still Alive

So it has been awhile since I have blogged because lets face it, I so often find better things to do than to let the world know what I am doing in my private life. I spend all day on my computer as a software engineer just to come home to spend more time on my computer paragraphing my thoughts or my daily actions in a small essay...NOT BP. However, call me a hypo (that is short for hypocrite for all you know BP thinking folks) because for some reason I have an itch to blog today.

So what has BP been doing besides not telling the world that I am DA MAN, well --
1) I recently took a new job at BAE Systems. It was a very smart and good move for me besides the 55 minute drive I now have.
2) I finally defeated my unicorn of going undefeated on Heisman level of NCAA football. I perfected the option offense and created a new defensive scheme that involves putting speed everywhere besides the DL (yes i have HBs at LB and WR at CB now). I won multiple National Championships with Auburn and Utep.
3) I moved on to online play for NCAA 2009 now and currently i had to let my wife hide the game from me because I went on a 9 game losing streak and started thinking bad thoughts in my head.
4) I got a donkey for Christmas. His name is Yosemenit (or Yo-yo for short). He currently is being kept in the lot because he loves to chase the cows. Even though it is funny seeing Yo-Yo run full blast and blasting his donkey noise (he-ha-he-ha) at the top of lungs as he chases a momma cow, it just not healthy for the cows. Hopefully if Erin and I can buy some land soon he can come live with us instead of possibly being sold (dad said we could neuter him but just try and picture thatNOT Happening)
5) Got a new car---sweet
6) have 2 dogs now..Cooper (aka Coop City city, Mr. Cooper, the coopster, coop) who just turned 1 year and 5 months old (gold retriver) and Paisley who just turned 1 year old (she is a shi-poo)
7)got my first and only blog comment on I HATE CHARTER and yep i still hate charter
8) i gained 30 pounds and lost 28 pounds
9) i hate politics and the whole washington DC needs to return to a high school economic class

well my blogging desire just took a hit for some reason..i have one more post to do and twittering and texting but i may have to wait awhile because i am losing the desire

joke time: what is the difference between a porkypine and a guy driving a BMW.
Answer: with the BMW, the prick is inside....HAHAHAHAHAHAH
